Guidance Notes for Claimants

A step-by-step guide to filing and managing a claim on A-Resolve, from registration to final award.

1. Getting Started

As a claimant, you are the party initiating a dispute on A-Resolve. Before you begin, make sure you have the respondent's full name, a valid email address, and a phone number on hand, along with any supporting documents (contracts, invoices, correspondence) relevant to your claim.

2. Filing Your Claim

1

Create your account

Register on the platform with the Claimant role using your email address. No registration code is required for this role.

2

Register a new case

From your dashboard, select "Register New Case." Provide a clear case title, the case type, the disputed amount (optional), and a complete description of the dispute, including dates, background, and what outcome you are seeking.

3

Add respondent details

Enter the respondent's full name, email, and phone number. This information is used to invite them to the case once it is approved.

4

Upload supporting documents

Attach any contracts, invoices, or correspondence that support your claim (PDF, JPG, PNG, GIF, DOC, or DOCX — up to 10 MB per file). You can add further documents later via the case timeline.

Tip: The more complete and well-organized your initial submission is, the faster the administrator can review your case and the better prepared the arbitrator will be once appointed.

3. What Happens After Submission

Once submitted, your case is reviewed by the A-Resolve administrator. If approved, an invitation is sent to the respondent's email so they can join the case and respond. You can track every stage of your case from your dashboard at any time.

StatusWhat it means
Pending ReviewYour case has been submitted and is awaiting administrator approval.
RegisteredYour case has been approved. The respondent has been invited to join.
Arbitrator RequestedYou have requested an arbitrator and the request is awaiting approval.
Arbitrator AssignedAn arbitrator has been appointed and given access to the case.
In ProgressThe arbitrator has joined and active proceedings have begun.
DecidedA final, binding decision has been issued.
ArchivedThe case is closed and kept on record.

4. Requesting an Arbitrator

Once your case is registered, you can request that a specific arbitrator be appointed. You do not need to browse a list of arbitrators — simply enter the name of the arbitrator you have in mind, and the administrator will review and confirm the appointment. The appointed arbitrator will then access the case directly from their own dashboard.

In some cases, if the dispute is not resolved after the first arbitrator's review, the respondent may request a second arbitrator, and a third, presiding arbitrator may later be appointed to issue the final decision. You will see each appointment reflected in your case status as it happens.

5. Inviting a Mediator (Optional)

If you would prefer to attempt mediation, your dashboard provides a unique invitation code you can share with up to two mediators of your choosing. Once they register and enter the code, they will join the case and can participate in the discussion alongside the arbitrator process.

6. Following the Case Timeline

Every case has a shared timeline visible to you, the respondent, and any appointed arbitrators or mediators. Use it to post comments, respond to requests, and track every document and status change in one place. All communication on the platform is logged and timestamped.

7. The Final Decision

Once the arbitrator (or the presiding arbitrator, in a three-arbitrator tribunal) has reviewed the case, a final decision is issued and recorded on the platform. You will be able to view the full decision and reasoning from your case page once it is published.
